Bongs are wonderful things. They allow us to enjoy something, quite effectively, and each one is unique and uniquely provides its purpose. When you get a new bong, it is clean, smooth, new and in great working condition. But if we’re not careful to take the needed time to care for and maintain our glass piece, it will stop functioning optimally. It will get dirty. It will hold onto stains and it will stink. And the longer we let it go without maintaining it, the worse the problem becomes.
So how do we properly care for our bongs? Below offers some insight and recommendations to keeping your bong in good working order:
1. Clean and Inspect your Bong
Keeping our glass clean is important. You will want to regularly clean your bong. To do this, first dump out the dirty water. Then, use rubbing alcohol (or rubbing alcohol with a little coarse salt, or a commercial product for cleaning your bong – we prefer rubbing alcohol) to do the cleaning. First dump some solution into the bong, then cover the top of the bong and swirl around to clean. Dump out the solution and pour water in to rinse, and then dump out the water. Next, using a paper towel dab the cleaning solution and clean the openings of the bong. Lastly, individually clean your bowl and stem with the cleaning solution.
You will also want to perform a visual inspection of your bong to see if there are any cracks or areas where the bong has excess debris and need special attention to that area of the bong. If there is a particularly dirty area you may need to apply additional cleaning solution to that area with a paper towel or appropriate gently exfoliating material to gently remove the debris.

2. Protect your Bong
Keeping your bong in good shape is another central component of caring for your bong. Always keep your bong in positions and places where it is least likely to get knocked or tipped. It is also most recommended to keep your bong out of harms way by offering it an extra layer of protection.
